Taito Kawata is a Finnish Japanese director. He began his audiovisual work in the field of music, then went on to study sound design and editing, and in 2007 founded the renowned advertising film company Cocoa Helsinki. He has directed an award winning personal short film “Hypertension” (Tokyo International Short Film Festival, Lift-off Tokyo) and the most viewed documentary feature film of 2022 about the Finnish hip hop sensation JVG (SF studios & Elisa). Recently, Kawata directed a 10-part drama series “Dance Brothers”, which is the first ever Finnish Netflix series.
